Townsville Climate March

ClimateMarch_WebHeader.jpg

In the last weekend of November, will you help create the biggest climate march the world has ever seen? As global leaders meet in Paris...Join us as we march together for a better, safer and fairer future for all.

Join hundreds of thousands of Australians as we march for a transition to renewable energy, for secure job creation, for clean air, for a healthy environment and a safe climate.

Townsville Climate March will be held on Saturday 28 November, 4pm.

Meet at the Rockpool on the Strand, 4PM. March together to the Burke Street Headland (near Strand Park, behind the Picnic Bay Surf Lifesaving Club).

As a group, we'll hear representatives from the Townsville community share their thoughts on the impacts of climate change both locally and globally, the opportunities and why it is so important for the world to act now.

Dress in bright colours and bring a placard if you can. Lets make it known that here in Townsville 'we care' and want global leadership on climate change.

You can find the Townsville Climate March Facebook event here.

A community event coordinated by North Queensland Conservation Council, 'the voice for the environment in North Queensland'.

We encourage our community to get involved and embrace this opportunity to tell our local leaders and the world that Townsville wants strong action to address climate change.

'We Care' Placard Competition!

Win $100 for yourself, your family, your school, community group, organisation or business!

Event coordination

North Queensland Conservation Council is providing a coordinating role for the Global Climate March in Townsville, but ultimately the event will be shaped by the Townsville community. If you have an idea, or know a group or organisation that wants to be involved in a particular way, please contact NQCC so that we can coordinate our community's actions.
